Keeper of the House
After reading Titus 2, it made me wonder what exactly is a “keeper of the house?”
As I began to research the topic, I ran across some very interesting and thought provoking literature. Apparently a career is to be further down the list of importance than society leads on for it to be. Im all for us woman bettering ourselves and contributing to the home, but what happens when success and careers become our primary focus? It replaces time with our families. We can never get tomorrow back, let alone experiencing our kids youth. SO its important to stop every day and smell the roses by spending extra time with our kids. Put the phones down, stop gossiping, texting, and get off social media and use that time to connect with our kids and husband. I am a young woman in my early 30’s. I know how hard it is to find that balance with work and family, but with Christ all things are possible. It is his will that we be keepers of the house and that’s maintaining a proper home, teaching the kids, cooking, and helping our husbands with whatever they need. Anytime we become too consumed with anything else, we are not in line with Gods plans for our lives. Please take the time to read Titus 2. I have posted it below. Thank you for reading…..God bless !!
Titus 2King James Version (KJV)
2 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
