While reading the story of the virgin birth, I began to think of what was said when they described Mary’s life. Luke 1:28 says And the angel came in unto her, and said. Hail, thou art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art though among women. Ok now lets talk about what we know about Mary’s life. Mary was engaged to a Carpenter, she gave birth in a stable, and there is no indications of her being rich what so ever. As a matter of fact we can almost assume she lived what today society would consider poor. Yet she was declared blessed. The Hebrew/Greek word for blessed is berakah which based on Vines, is the opposite of cursed. The bible describes a cursed person as anyone that does not put their trust in God and his only begotten son Jesus our Lord and savior. Below I have included the parable of the rich man and Lazarus. The rich man found his spot in the lake of fire where as Lazurus found his in the bossum of Abraham(heaven). The rich man was not even worthy of a name for the contents of the script. He was a nobody in Gods kingdom.
Are you a somebody in Gods kingdom or the world? The bible says friendship with the world is enmity with God. Come separate and know what it is to be truly blessed. Hold Gods standards verses adopting the worlds.
Below are supporting scriptures
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. James 4:4
Luke 16:19-31King James Version (KJV)
19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord. He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”

Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joyfulness and gladness of heart, because of the abundance of all things, therefore you shall serve your enemies whom the Lord will send against you, in hunger and thirst, in nakedness, and lacking everything. And he will put a yoke of iron on your neck until he has destroyed you.
