Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Raising Kids

I am a mother as well as a wife. When I was pregnant I felt an urgency to be perfect because now I am an example for a person that will be effected by all my actions. Needless to say I failed at being perfect. Cried a lot in the beginning and had a lot of frustrating bouts in the closet feeling like working, being an parent and wife were just impossible multi tasks.

Along my struggle with becoming responsible for multiple people, a few things were revealed to me that I should be honing in on while raising my children.

First thing don’t focus too much on academic achievement and milestones. Let God and Jesus be the primary focus verses academics.

Second help kids find their natural God given talent and help shape their talent to give back to the Lord in due season. Examples: Christian school or day care, adult bible studies with parent, and kid bible studies at the church also help give them the foundation they need in learning about their Father in heaven.

Thirdly, conduct family at home Bible studies. This is good for relationship building and allowing one on one question and answer time.

Fourthly, Parents that know their own talents show their kids what it really means to put them to use. Involve your kids in most of the activities that are kid friendly and safe when doing ministry work.

Fithly, teach your children was is right and wrong, not just because you said so, but because our creator and Lord God told us. They should be connecting morality to God not society. This is a key element in keeping the worlds influence from being dominate over Gods word.

Above I have posted a link to pure flix. Guard your kids gates. Preview what they are watching as well as watch the shows with them and explain what is right and wrong if any. Pure flix offers family Christ centered entertainment. Parents lead by example, you shouldn’t watch shows that your kids cant watch. Guard your gates as well.

Be mindful of how you respond to your life problems. Respond to problems in prayer, patients and referencing the scripture. By doing so you not only break generational curses that you may have had but also prevent from passing them down to your kids. Let your kids see you praying and reading your word instead of arguing and being anxious about every little detail of life.

Lastly, Pray with your kids every day. I pray through out the day, but since our kids aren’t with us the entire day use time like riding in the car in the mornings for prayer and listening to Christian based radio stations for praise and worship.

Below I have attached some scriptures about child rearing
