Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. - Psalms 1:1-2

The American Dream: a curse or a gift

Lets talk about Jealousy and what it is to covet someone elses blessings.

We have all been guilty of it. Those that deny it are lying to themselves.

Looking at a neighbors belongings and wanting it for yourself, looking at a neighbors job or salary and feeling angry because you feel as if you deserve everything and more than they have. And lastly looking at another woman’s man or life and wanting him or what he has to offer.

Be warned you are telling God what you have given me is just not good enough, and why then should he bless you with more or even worst why shouldn’t he just take it all away, the things you do have.

The bible tells us to learn to be content and happy in whatever state we are in. Paul said he knew what it was like to be with a lot and without any. The center of Pauls joy was Christ (the holy spirit residing inside him) he didn’t need material things to confirm he was a child of God or important to the kingdom.

If you meet a person and that’s all they have to talk about is all what they have, constantly comparing what material things you have to what new things they have. Do not envy these people. Regardless how much they have, they are not happy inside, the evidence is in the need to brag. Pray for them. They are in bondage to the enemys delusion that money is what determines your worth.

The joy of Christ keeps you happy regardless what state you are in. These individuals have chosen to replace God with seeking material things in order to prove their worth and thus far replacing Gods worth in their lives. This is a Godless person. Money and material things have become an idol.

DO not allow those people to suck you into their delusion by trying to compete with them.

My solution to dealing with these people is keep them out your business and plans. Only minister to them and do not comment on or change the subject when they begin to try to be boastful. Pray for their deliverance from the bondage of money in Jesus name!

I recommend to those dealing with the feelings or spirit of jealous to research scriptures on the issue and pray away the emotion in Jesus name anytime thoughts enter your mind.

I have listed below some references to support these findings

James 3:14-16 King James Version (KJV)

14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

Proverbs 14:30 - A sound heart [is] the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

Philippians 2:3 - [Let] nothing [be done] through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

James 3:16 - For where envying and strife [is], there [is] confusion and every evil work.

1 Corinthians 13:4 - Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

Galatians 5:19-21King James Version (KJV)

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 3:3 - For ye are yet carnal: for whereas [there is] among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

Song of Solomon 8:6 - Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love [is] strong as death; jealousy [is] cruel as the grave: the coals thereof [are] coals of fire, [which hath a] most vehement flame.

James 4:7 - Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Ecclesiastes 4:4 - Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This [is] also vanity and vexation of spirit.

John 8:32 - And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. Philippians 4:11-12 ( Paul on content)
